Wegner CPAs Kicks Off High-Impact VP of Finance Search with Local Client!

The Vice President (VP) of Finance will report directly and be a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and assume a tactical and strategic role in the overall management of the Company. As a key member of the executive management team, the Vice President, Finance has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial activities of the Company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting and financial functions of the business, including general accounting management, forecasting, budgeting, bank reporting requirements, treasury/cash management, insurance and risk management, and other financial analyses and the assets and books of the company.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, the Board of Directors, and the senior management team to help shape the overall direction for the company including operating budgets, financial forecasts, and management reports.
  • Build deep knowledge of the business and develop growth strategies, tactics, and long-range planning, ensuring that current revenue-generating strategies create enterprise value and accelerate growth. Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
  • Establish, modify, document and/or coordinate the implementation of accounting and internal control procedures. Maintain effective accounting standards, policies, and processes to ensure that required recording, analysis and reporting of financial information is clear and consistent, and available at all levels of the Company on a timely and accurate basis. Responsible for the delivery of cost-effective and efficient accounting and financial systems while implementing best-practice policies and processes that meet current and future business requirements.
  • Oversee the treasury and cash management function. Act as primary liaison for company banking relationships. Manage external reporting requirements and presentations to financial partners and auditors. Ensure credit agreement and covenant compliance.
  • Advise senior management and other business leadership on the financial implications of business activities. Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
  • Lead a strong finance function, ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the accounting and finance functions. Focus on integration of finance function into mainstream business operations and planning.
  • Partner with Operations in analyzing, setting and achieving KPI's. Improve financial systems, reporting tools and KPI's to enhance decision making.
  • Direct and lead processes for financial forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and reporting, to deliver timely, relevant, accurate and complete information that further elevates business performance.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required. MBA/CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing company, including experience with manufacturing accounting practices like standard costing
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling a business.
  • Executive presence: ability to function as a member of the management team, and to add value to the organization beyond the financial arena.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial model building, as well as tax, audit, and regulatory compliance management.
