Farmer Couple (6521)

Location: Orcas, Washington

Job Number: 6521

Responsible for planting schedules, crop rotation, harvesting, and processing of all agricultural/farm operations. Manages hayfields and mowing schedules. Oversee fruit and nut orchards. Weed/pest management, composting, irrigation, pruning. Care for chickens and other animals/livestock. Develops expansion plans for additional livestock operations. Oversee, hire, train seasonal workers as necessary. Oversee implementation of established Timber Mgmt Plans. Equipment Maintenance/Management.

Qualifications:
•Farming background/lifestyle; extensive horticultural and animal husbandry knowledge
•Mechanical systems knowledge
•Solid initiative and problem-solving ability
•Must be able to pass a drug and criminal background check and maintain a valid driver’s license
•Preference given to military veterans
