Disinfectant Solutions of Atlanta is thrilled to announce an opportunity to be part of the Custodial team. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to fill the full-time position of Custodian, for a client at Brookhaven. This is an on-site role that plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all staff at our client's office at Brookhaven, Georgia area. This position does not offer the option to work remotely.

As a custodian, you will be entrusted with upholding the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the institution. The role requires a commitment to ensuring the health and safety of school children and staff by preventing the spread of infectious diseases through thorough cleaning and sanitization practices. We seek individuals who are passionate about community welfare and ready to contribute positively to the client's organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning, including but not limited to mopping, sweeping, and sanitizing of all classroom surfaces and common areas.
• Ensure restrooms are maintained and sanitized consistently throughout the day.
• Handle the safe disposal of trash and other waste materials.
• Assist in the setup of facilities for various school events or activities as needed.
• Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and other fixtures.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, ensuring adequate stock is maintained for every day operations.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and practices within the school environment.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks during school holidays.
• Operate cleaning machinery in a safe manner as required for floors, carpets, and other needs.
• Engage in outdoor cleaning and maintenance tasks, including pressure washing and landscaping to enhance the school’s facade.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven experience as a custodian or in a similar role, ideally within a school setting.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, along with proper storage and use protocols.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Experience in pressure washing and basic landscaping.
• Good physical condition and strength with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
• Dependable, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
